I believe we are all have a place in this world, and a purpose. Mine is to tell my story through my art and my writing. By telling that story, I hope to encourage others to tell their own stories, and find their own place in the world.

When I visit a museum, I gaze eagerly upon the exhibits of ancient artifacts--pottery shards, bone tools, textile fragments too tattered and worn to identify. Tenderly mounted under temples of glass, carefully labeled for display, they seem to speak to us in whispers of a time forgotten, of a people lost to us in antiquity.

I create artifacts from such a lost cultures and imagined prehistories. I use these modern artifacts to retell ancient stories, stories I feel have much to teach us today.

I am a nationally exhibited artist and published writer. I create wall hangings, sculpture and jewelry inspired by tribal and prehistoric art. My artwork has appeared in many books, newspapers and magazines across the country. I’ve written a book (CARVING RUBBER STAMPS, Lark Books, 2002), various articles (including FiberArts magazine), a regular magazine column (Craftsbusiness magazine, The Crafts Report) and I blog regularly about what I’ve learned as an artist and writer, and the business of craft.

I have a B.A. in art history and an M.A. in education from the University of Michigan. I credit my art history courses with introducing me to the art of many world cultures that now influence my work.

My studio is a renovated antique barn attached to my home in Keene, NH. I am a double-juried member of the prestigious League of New Hampshire Craftsmen in stitchery and non-metal jewelry.
